Progress report

I stared at my object yesterday for awhile. I think it was somewhere around 8 minutes. I did not set a timer, maybe it was three minutes that felt like forever.
Today I'll set a timer.

Almost immediately some snippets of my childhood start playing in my mind.
That's where the object is from. My childhood.
I remembered it's name. why that was it's name. her name.
that reminded me of another object, a book, that the name came from and the character in that book.
Then I reminded myself to fucking stop thinking about stuff and JUST. LOOK.
It's hard?

That's where I'm at.
The imagery of my childhood in relation to this object was extremely vivid.
I seemingly cannot shut it off.
Even now just trying to type this post I am being flooded with memories and images and sounds revolving around the object itself, but also around the story of the name.
Which, I thought, was a good thing? but I guess it's also not good because it's too loud, too much, all at once?

Some times when I am doing this work my mind race's too. I have found just as Jon has said let do what it is going to do.
