Exercise 1 -

WHAT WE LEARNED:

THIS IS NOT COMEDY IMPROV. This is method improv.

Everybody improvs badly the same way. Don't talk into the scene / drive in with words.

Believability is the most important thing we can achieve. If you don't believe, the audience won't believe.

There is a connection between acting and improv. Life is improv, life is random - to appear life like stay random.
Acting is the obligation to function as close to a human being which lives in a world of randomness while embodying the constructs of a script which takes randomness. UNTIL YOU REACH THIS LEVEL YOU WILL NOT WORK.
Improv engages the sensibility of never locking in. Locking in cannot change. big question: (How do you stay alive and perform the obligations?)
We are here to remain in a state of randomness while - crafting, conflict and contrast. the three c’s
Your ability to achieve an intelligent improv. Us aimless stream of consciousness, while searching for 1. who you are 2. who they are 3. where they are psycho-emotionally 4 your contrast and conflict.
There is no place for indication in improv.
Immerse yourself in your improv by using SENSE.
Experience sense elements that are not found through anticipation.
Live under the lines.
We are here to build our inner belief.
Hold sensory information to know who we are, where we are, what our environment is and how we live in it.
The inner battle - hold something that is tangible and relax into it.

Thoughts -

One of the great paradoxes of acting.
If you can solve it, acting will never be the same for you.

acting is simultaneously

spontaneous, immediate, uncalculated,
random, free flowing

AND

defined, focused, specific, compressed, restricted.
