strong environment

At the start of class Jon talked about how with improvisation you must have "a sense of who you are, where you are, and what you are doing there". This is pivotal for improvisation because otherwise it just plainly would not be seen as believable because how are you to expect someone else to believe you are where you say you are if you don't consider all of these elements. This is also really important when doing atmospheric work because you want to have a a strong sense of your environment. A tip that I found most useful from this class was that Jon said when trying to image stream don't try to see it, you can get much more imagery that is triggered by the senses and to also stop trying to have a narrative attached to memory. as we all know I kinda flubbed the exercise because I ended up falling asleep but I guess you can say I really got into that relaxed state.
